His younger brother, Niyas Backer, also followed the same path, becoming a well-known actor and mimicry artist.

Navas began his career as a mimicry artist with the iconic Kalabhavan troupe, which was the breeding ground for many famous Malayalam comedians and actors. His performances were praised for their energy, originality, and comedic timing.
