LEGO Pokémon 40892 Kanto Region Badge Collection GWP – Officially Revealed & Comparing LEGO’s New $200 Pikachu vs. Mega Bloks/Mega Construx Versions
LEGO has officially announced the 40892 Kanto Region Badge Collection as a Gift With Purchase (GWP) tied to its big Pokémon release wave launching on 27 February 2026.
Piece count: 312 pieces
Theme: All 8 Kanto Gym Badges — Boulder, Cascade, Thunder, Rainbow, Soul, Marsh, Volcano, and Earth — recreated in LEGO form.
Display Case: The badges come in a buildable box that opens and closes with a Poké Ball-inspired latch and has transparent plates so you can see the badges inside.
Size: Roughly 3 cm tall × 19 cm wide × 10 cm deep — small but detailed.
It’s exclusive as a GWP with purchases of the 72153 Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise set (LEGO’s most expensive Pokémon set). Available from Feb 27 until early March (stock limits apply). Some early pre-orders already include it, though it’s expected to be limited and potentially sell out quickly.
Comparing LEGO’s New $200 Pikachu vs. Mega Bloks/Mega Construx Versions
With LEGO entering the Pokémon building toy arena, one of the big talking points is how its new Pikachu set stacks up against existing non-LEGO Pokémon construction toys.
LEGO Pokémon Pikachu (72152)
Price: Around $199.99 (~₹16,000+ depending on region).
Piece Count: ~2,050 pieces.
Design: LEGO’s Pikachu builds a large, detailed display figure with articulated limbs and ears, a brick-built Poké Ball, a display stand with lightning effects, and even Pikachu’s Pokédex number 25 worked into the design.
Audience: Aimed at adult collectors and fans — large and detailed, meant more as a display piece than a toy for kids.
Mega Bloks / Mega Construx Pikachu
Price Range: Typically $40–$60 USD for the larger jumbo buildable Pikachu toy.
Piece Count: Varies by version — jumbo sets have ~800 pieces, smaller figures around 200-300 pieces.
Design: Mega versions are poseable, brick-built Pikachu figures and usually emphasize playability over display detailing at a much lower price.
