Punch Facelift Debuts with Turbo Petrol, New Features & dramatic crash test against a truck
2026 Tata Punch Facelift —Debuts with Turbo Petrol, New Features & the dramatic crash test against a truck

The new 2026 Tata Punch facelift brings a fresh design that modernises Tata’s popular micro-SUV:
It sports revised front and rear styling, with sleeker LED lighting and sharper body lines compared to the older Punch.
The exterior takes inspiration from Tata’s EV design language, with horizontal grille elements and a more mature, premium look.
Inside, it gets upgraded tech — including a fully digital instrument cluster and a larger touchscreen infotainment system — along with better comfort and convenience features.

Under the hood, Tata offers multiple powertrains for the facelift model including:
A new 1.2 L turbo-petrol producing around 120 PS and 170 Nm (stronger performance).
Naturally aspirated petrol and CNG options continue as well.
Bookings are open in India now, with prices starting around ₹5.59 lakh (ex-showroom) and topping out higher depending on trim and options.
Facelift Undergoes Realistic Crash Test Against Truck
Tata Motors released official footage showing the Punch facelift crashing into a stationary truck at about 50 km/h.
Four crash test dummies were positioned inside to simulate real occupants.
Safety Performance
The SUV’s cabin structure stayed intact with little compromise to the passenger compartment, highlighting good structural rigidity.
Airbags deployed promptly and all doors remained operable after impact — important for emergency egress.
Tata says this demonstration goes beyond standard lab tests to show how the Punch might perform in more extreme conditions.
Safety Rating
The facelifted Punch carries a 5-star Bharat NCAP safety rating for adult and child occupant protection.
The test underlines Tata’s focus on safety in real-world scenarios, not just meeting regulatory benchmarks.
