Closed-Door Hearing Turns Tense as Clinton Pushes Back on Conspiracy Claims
In Tense Deposition, Hillary Clinton Denies Meeting Epstein, Accuses GOP of “Cover-Up”

Former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton delivered hours of closed-door testimony before a Republican-led congressional panel this week, firmly denying any connection to disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein and accusing GOP lawmakers of turning the investigation into a political spectacle.
The tense deposition is part of an ongoing House Oversight Committee probe into Epstein’s network and his high-profile contacts, with both Democrats and Republicans clashing over the scope and direction of the investigation.
During the testimony, Clinton stated repeatedly that she had no relationship, communication, or interaction with Epstein.
She told the committee she:
Does not recall ever meeting Epstein.
Never visited his homes, private island, or offices.
Never flew on his private plane.
Had no knowledge of his criminal activities.
Clinton also said she was “horrified” by Epstein’s crimes and emphasized her longstanding advocacy against human trafficking.
According to reports, the deposition lasted several hours, with Clinton answering all questions under oath. She later told reporters she had “nothing to add” because she had no relevant information about the financier or his crimes.
The hearing comes as the Republican-controlled House Oversight Committee intensifies its investigation into Epstein’s associates and how his crimes went undetected for years.
Committee chairman James Comer said the goal is transparency and accountability, though he noted no one has accused Clinton of wrongdoing.
However, Clinton sharply criticized the probe, accusing Republicans of:
Conducting a partisan “fishing expedition.”
Distracting attention from other figures tied to Epstein.
Spreading conspiracy theories unrelated to the case.
She described the questioning as politically motivated and at times off-topic. Reports indicate some lawmakers raised controversial and debunked conspiracy theories during the session.
In one of her strongest remarks, Clinton accused Republicans of using the investigation to shield others and divert scrutiny.
She argued that:
The subpoena compelling her testimony was unnecessary.
The committee was attempting to distract from other potential Epstein connections.
There should be full transparency in releasing Epstein-related documents.
Clinton also called for the release of unredacted government records tied to Epstein, saying the American public deserves to know the full truth.
Clinton did acknowledge a casual acquaintance with Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s longtime associate.
She explained that:
Maxwell attended her daughter Chelsea Clinton’s wedding as a guest of someone else.
They had only limited social interactions.
She had no knowledge of Maxwell’s alleged crimes.
Maxwell is currently serving a prison sentence related to sex trafficking charges.
The deposition was briefly disrupted after a photograph of Clinton testifying was leaked online.
The incident:
Violated congressional rules prohibiting photos in closed-door hearings.
Prompted a temporary pause in the proceedings.
Sparked outrage among Democrats.
The controversy added to the already heated political atmosphere surrounding the prob.
