Police search of Annie Guthrie’s neighborhood following the release of an image of an armed individual possibly connected to the disappearance of her mother, 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie — a case that has drawn national attention
Authorities released surveillance images and video showing a masked, armed individual at Nancy Guthrie’s Tucson, Arizona, home on the morning of her disappearance. The person was seen tampering with the front-door camera — attempting to disable or obstruct it.
The FBI and the Pima County Sheriff’s Office haven’t identified the person or designated them as a confirmed suspect, but the visuals are being shared widely in hopes someone will recognize them.
Blood matching Nancy’s DNA was found near her front steps, and part of her Ring doorbell appears to have been removed, supporting the belief that she was taken against her will.
Police in Annie Guthrie’s Neighborhood
Following the release of these images, law enforcement agents have been canvassing the neighborhood of Annie Guthrie, who lives about four miles from her mother’s home.
Reports from neighbors indicate deputies and federal agents were seen going door-to-door, speaking with residents and collecting surveillance footage from homes in the area.
It’s not yet clear whether investigators had a warrant or entered Annie’s home with her permission, but neighbors observed the activity on February 7 and afterward.
Ongoing Investigation and Family Response
The investigation remains active and high-profile, led by the FBI with assistance from the Pima County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities continue to urge anyone with information to contact law enforcement.
Savannah Guthrie, the NBC “Today” co-anchor and one of Nancy’s daughters, has been publicly appealing for help and emotional support, emphasizing the family’s hope that their mother is still alive.
Investigators have also conducted a second search of Annie Guthrie’s home as part of the broader investigative efforts, though details about those operations have not been released.
