The hockey world is mourning after the tragic death of Jessi Pierce, a longtime reporter covering the Minnesota Wild, who was killed along with her three young children in a devastating house fire in Minnesota.

  • The fire broke out early on March 21, 2026, at a home in White Bear Lake, Minnesota

  • Emergency crews responded around 5:25–5:30 a.m. after neighbors reported flames coming through the roof and feared people were inside.

  • When firefighters arrived, the house was fully engulfed in flames

  • Inside, they found Pierce, her three children, and the family dog, all deceased. 

Authorities have not yet confirmed the cause of the fire, and investigations are ongoing.

The National Hockey League released a heartfelt statement saying:

“Jessi loved our game… We will miss her terribly.”

The Minnesota Wild organization also said they were “heartbroken”, remembering her as a compassionate person and a strong ambassador for hockey.
